Louise & Chris | South Shields Engagement

If you're up for anything, so am I! So I love engagement shoots like this, where we get to connect with each other, have a laugh, enjoy a beautiful day by our beautiful coast up here in the North East. We're so lucky to have such amazing scenery right by our doorstep - we need to make the most of it!

Louise & Chris are fabulous. I am so so excited to shoot their Le Petite Chateau wedding in October, fingers crossed for some beautiful autumn colours and sunshine :)

Zoe & Phil | Tynemouth Beach Engagement

You can do so much with a simple setting! Beach shoots like this with chilled out couples are just perfect. Tynemouth beach is such a cute little spot for your couples shots before the big day and when you have a lovely couple like this it just makes the day a breeze! The sunshine helps a bit I guess...

Still looking for a wedding photographer? Maybe you'd like a cozy couples session?

Jen & Phil | Carlisle Wedding Photography

I'm going to do a little bit of maths. Wedding converse + BBQ food + loads of time for couples shots = one super happy photographer! I recon Jen & Phil were pretty happy too.

Jen & Phil had their engagement shoot with me a while back in Chopwell Woods, and I knew then that their wedding was going to be wonderful and very them. Jen was a super crafty bride, she did alot of the hard work herself, she is also a designer - she makes the cutest little graphics for blogs. I think this creativity really came out in the wedding.

Jen got ready in the centre of Carlisle at the Halston which is fab because it has wonderful large windows which make it perfect for my style of photography, I love lots of natural light! She had her hair done by Laura McAlindon from Halo Hair & make up by Five Senses Hideaway going for a really chilled and natural look. When ready we headed to the Registry Office where Jen & Phil said their vows and exchanged rings. Confetti was thrown and then we had a little session with their son to get some lovely images of the three of them together. We headed to the Tithe Barn, Carlisle, where Jen had set up those all important DIY decorations, she did such an amazing job, the theme was just so relaxed like them. Ok, so I mentioned BBQ before, and this was provided by Border Hog Roast and it was genuinely amazing. I mean it. I know I say amazing a lot, but really. If you have BBQ food at your wedding, I want to photograph it. There were some embarrassing speeches, an awesome couples session and some dancing to put the icing on the three french fancy cakes.

Such a great day!

Are you planing a cute little DIY wedding too?

I love to photograph them.

Lynsey & Gary | Wheelbirks Ice Cream Parlour Engagement

Scroll through these images and you'll see just how much fun it was. Fun shoots like this are the reason I love doing pre-weddings shoots. We can get to know each other, share some ice cream and maybe be licked by a cow or two (this makes more sense after you see all the photos)! I want them to be an opportunity to calm any nerves you may have about having your photos taken on the big day - I hope this did the job!

Chelsea & Steven | Wylam Brewery Wedding | Newcastle Wedding Photography

FAIR WARNING: If you didn't know Chelsea & Steven before this blog post, you're going to be so mad that you missed this awesome wedding!

Chelsea & Steven picked me to photograph their Wylam Brewery wedding (thanks guys!). Wylam Brewery is a fairly new venue in Newcastle, but with so much potential it's easy to see why any couple would choose to get married here.  Oh what an awesome day it was. I don’t even know where to start, awesome couple, awesome day, awesome music, did I mention it may have been awesome? Honestly, words don’t do this wedding justice – have a scroll down and see for yourself.  If you're looking for a Wylam Brewery wedding photographer - look no further!

Are you having equally as awesome a wedding?

Wylam brewery or anywhere in the north east!

Don't forget the juicy details!

Joelle & Alan | Bamburgh Engagement Shoot

I had a great time with Joelle & Alan in Bamburgh ahead of their Paxton House wedding in a few months. It's great to get out and spend some time with couples before the big day, especially on a sunny day next to the sea!
These pre-wedding shoots are my favourite way to get to know you both as a couple and give us an opportunity to hang out before your big day, this is why I include a shoot in all my packages!

If you like what you see why not get in touch to arrange wedding photography or maybe a couples shoot?

Jen & Phil | Chopwell Woods Engagement Shoot

Chopwell Wood is such an awesome location for an engagement shoot. It's the first time I've photographed in the woods and it's perfect for couples who may be a little shy - there's plenty of cover and privacy and not a whole lot of people. So perfect for a couple who wants something intimate and emotional but without the embarrassment of everybody watching.

We had a wander around the woods and had a chat about their wedding plans - it sounds like it's going to be an awesome day, I think I might be as excited as them. BBQ food at a wedding? Yes please!

Throughout the woods we stopped at a few different spots to get some shots. I think out of the set the few at the end might be my favourite, but to be honest the whole set is great, I love it when a couple really gets into the photos and loves them just as much as I do!

Are you part of an awesome couple like this?

JP & Ragan | Slaley Hall Wedding | Northumberland Wedding Photographer

When JP & Ragan got in touch with only a few months to spare looking for a northumberland wedding photographer for their Slaley Hall Wedding, I was more than happy to help! Slaley Hall in December provides some awesome green backdrops and a beautiful venue to work with, definitely worth a look if you're looking for a venue in the north east. The have some really lovely well lit rooms that are great for bridal preparation, especially if you have lots of kids or bridesmaids running around trying to get ready. We love a busy wedding though! With all the amazing details that Ragan had picked out I definitely didn't run out of things to photograph.

The day then progressed into a beautiful ceremony in the drawing room where the light floods in from the large patio doors behind you, on a day like JP & Ragan's where the winter suns shining outside it makes some really stunning lighting. Vows & rings were exchanged and so many happy memories made, after the ceremony the couple walked down the aisle to confetti being scattered and then the guests were off for canapés and drinks.

For their couple shots the newly wed couple braved the cold, well done to them because it was so chilly, and we got some awesome shots of them in the gardens and by the large trees just outside of the hall. In all my couple shots I try to capture some authentic emotion, instead of capturing chesey smiles I like to get some real happiness into the shots and capture the way the couple really feel about each other. Happy couple? Silly couple? Playful? Let's put that into your photos!

The rest of the day brought tears, laughs and smiles and some more amazing opportunities to record JP & Ragan's big day. I had an awesome time capturing JP & Ragan's big day, if you're looking for wedding photography in Northumerland or the North East drop me a message, let's see what we can do!
